**Mechanical Engineering Technician**

We are currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team on-site in South Australia. As a large-scale construction project company, Mechanical Engineering Technician will be mainly responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the design, drafting, and preparation of plans and layouts for solar power systems, mounting structures, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Support in the development and modification of solar plant components, including racking systems, tracking mechanisms, and thermal storage systems.
- Select and recommend appropriate tools, equipment, and materials required for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of solar infrastructure.
- Install and test new and modified solar assemblies, including support frames, hydraulic tracking systems, pumps, and mechanical controls.
- Estimate material costs, quantities, and equipment requirements for solar plant projects to support budgeting and procurement processes.
- Conduct and supervise site checks on solar mechanical systems to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with engineering specifications.
- Gather and interpret data, carry out engineering calculations, and produce diagrams and reports to support solar project design and implementation.
- Oversee the inspection, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical components within solar plants and related infrastructure.
- Ensure that all mechanical designs, installations, and completed works comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.

**Required Qualification & Skills**
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma. OR at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge and current skills in the energy industry.
- Attention to detail, strong work ethic.
- Able to take direction and work unsupervised.
- Team player that can also work autonomously.

**Salary**

Annual salary range for this position is between 75,000 to $85,000 plus super. Actual renumeration to commensurate with skills and experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
