**The Opportunity**
We have an opportunity for a GIS Analyst - Fruit Fly Emergency Response to be part of our Corporate Services Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality geospatial outputs and solutions for the ongoing PIRSA Biosecurity Fruit Fly Emergency Response in South Australia. The GIS Analyst operates within a multi-disciplinary environment and works closely with the Biosecurity Fruit Fly Team to provide geospatial outputs from established routine workflows and identify and define requirements and solutions to new geospatial requests.
The role works as an integral part of the team utilising advanced skills in geospatial data design, capture, maintenance, modelling, analytics, and presentation. The role scopes requirements and selects and applies methodologies to develop fit for purpose solutions. The GIS Analyst also provides technical advice to Biosecurity Fruit Fly team members and ongoing improvement of GIS workflows and processes. The GIS Analyst has a thorough understanding of the principles of Geographic Information Systems theory and practice, with considerable hands-on experience and possesses the ability to develop an understanding of the client’s business to facilitate the delivery of effective solutions and services.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Opportunity up to June 2025.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
**Requirements**:
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
- Upholding the ethical behaviour and professional integrity standards as contained in the Public Sector Act, 2009.
- Participating in PIRSA’s Performance Management and Development Program.
**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 min - $95,413 max per annum, plus superannuation
