Section / Team Leader - Rollingstock / Traction

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the main purpose of this role is to provide leadership and manage the daily production requirements of a workshop section, to exceed UGL and the customers’ expectations of safety, quality and deliveries.

This position will be a permanent full-time opportunities working on a permanent day shift basis (5 days per week, Monday to Friday). Overtime and weekend work available as required.

**About the role**
- Provide front line leadership to the production facility and team members
- Embody and role model the UGL OneHSE culture and beliefs
- Ensure safe work practices in accordance with safety procedures
- Assess risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage
- Provide interaction and support for all Team Members
- Develop and manage production delivery plans and resources allocation
- Allocate appropriate Team Members to tasks
- Conduct high quality planned and corrective maintenance, repair and/or service
- Conduct high quality defect investigation and repairs
- Ensure team compliance with all quality record keeping requirements
- Keep the Service Delivery Manager properly informed of activities and task progress
- Develop documentation specific for work package (NCRs, EAR and Completion reports, SWMS, ITP’s, high risk permits) and maintain registers
- Workshop team timekeeping management and reporting
- Attend/conduct site meetings, toolbox/pre-start meetings and progress meetings
- Interpret technical specifications, manuals and drawings
- Facilitate NCR investigations and root cause analysis
- Assist the Service Delivery Manager in responding to warranty and defect claims and provide technical advice
- Perform customer interaction and communication as necessary to perform duties assigned and as further delegated by the Service Delivery Manager
- Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Service Delivery Manager
- Deputise for the Service Delivery Manager as required

**About You**
- Trade qualification in a relevant discipline - ideally Electrical
- Front line leadership and Supervisory experience - essential
- Strong culture and attitude towards safety & quality
- Pride and high standard for workshop environment (5S, shadow boards, layout, cleanliness)
- Strong communication skills
- Good rotating electrical equipment knowledge & thinking
- Experience using hand, pneumatic and battery-operated tools
- Desire and willingness to learn & teach/mentor others
- Experience working in an industrial &/or workshop environment
- Desirable, but not essential, to have experience using overhead cranes
- Desirable, but not essential, to have experience operating forklifts
