**Job Purpose**
The Area Manager role is a pivotal leadership role, directly supporting the Head of Operations & Network Planning. The role is responsible for the management of all operations at multiple depots including safety, performance, resource management and working in close partnership with assets to ensure vehicle availability.
The Area Manager is accountable for the commercial performance and contractual compliance and will oversee the delivery of services in line with operational goals, drive continuous improvement and identify growth opportunities.
**Responsibilities**
- Always ensuring safe operations while managing multiple depots and work in close partnership with the other Area Manager to ensure alignment and consistency in all areas.
- Responsible for depot and network day to day safe work practice. Proactively communicating and conducting audits and campaigns to ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (HSEQ), as well as relevant industry regulations. Foster a culture of safety within the team and ensure the well-being of employees and customers.
- Participate in collision and incident investigation and assist in the implementation of corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Assist in the injury management and return to work process of injured workers. Monitor the suitable duties of injured workers to the return-to-work plan.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations and Network Planning to manage the area’s budget, ensuring that operational costs are controlled, and financial goals are met. Identify opportunities for growth, capacity enhancements, and service improvements. Audit timesheets and reconcile with the trip allocations and provide the variations in a timely manner for approval prior to payroll processing.
- Lead and manage a team of drivers and operational staff with providing coaching, support, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and professional growth. Assist drivers and be available to communicate with them regarding any issues, queries, concerns they may have and effectively communicate with all departments of the business.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations & Network Planning and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless service delivery and collaboration on strategic initiatives using regular reports and data analytics.
- Ensure the optimal use of resources, including staff, vehicles, and equipment, to meet operational requirements. Coordinate with HR and recruitment teams to ensure that staffing levels meet business needs.
- Address customer feedback and resolve operational issues, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and safety. Implement new processes, best practices, and initiatives to enhance performance and meet company goals.
- The delivery of all contractual services, ensuring compliance with contract terms and service-level agreements (SLAs). Coordinate and oversee special events, charters, and rail replacement services, ensuring seamless execution and the highest level of service quality.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in operational supervision, leading frontline teams.
- BOAS Accredited or commitment to achieving BOAS accreditation (with U-Go Mobility support)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in transport, business, or related discipline is desirable.
- Certificate of Transport Management or Cert IV in Frontline Management is desirable.
- Hold an MR driving licence, Drivers Authority and Working with Children Certificate desirable.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
