The primary objective of the position is to assist the Manager Catering Services to coordinate, manage and deliver frontline catering and events services provided by the Parliamentary Service.
This is a shift work position with hours to be worked primarily Monday through Friday. Some weekend work is required.

**The duties and responsibilities of the position include**:

- Lead the Parliamentary Catering Services Front of House team, in casual dining, banquets and fine dining food and bar services, private and premium dining services, event set up and break down, internal room and meeting space preparation.
- Develop and maintain a regularly scheduled roster for all Front of House staff across all areas, observing and planning for work within budgets determined by the Manager Catering Services.
- Develop staff and maintain succession and retention plans for Front of House staff by identifying future staffing requirements and developing team members.
- Participate in recruitment, selection and induction activities.
- Develop and maintain Front of House staff training and development plans and assist the Manager Catering Services to deliver training for all catering Services staff.
- Liaise with the various service delivery areas within the Parliamentary Service (including Catering Services, Security and Attendants, and Property and Facility Services etc.) in addition to key external clients to ensure a coordinated approach to the delivery of events.
- Liaise closely with the Guest Services Coordinator and other Catering Services staff in relation to all events and bookings to ensure a high quality of service to clients.
- Liaise with the Guest Services Coordinator and report to the Manager Catering Services Catering Manager on financial issues related to functions and events.
- Meet cost and budget targets set in consultation with the Manager Catering Services.
- Utilise various information systems and databases, including a Function Management System, Point of Sale, and scheduling software, to assist with the planning and delivery of services.
- Develop and maintain accurate and effective cash management processes for Front of House staff.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all venues, meeting rooms and events spaces and train Front of House accordingly.
