The role
The Queensland Government Gazette is a whole-of-government legislative publication. The Queensland Government Gazette Officer will be working in a small team to assist, coordinate and compile notices to be published in Gazettes and ensuring all preparation and production aspects are delivered on time and to high standards.
The Gazette team engages with customers internal and external to government and works to multiple daily and weekly production deadlines. This position requires the flexibility to support the publication of urgent Extraordinary Gazettes, which can involve longer hours on short notice. The Gazette sits within the Design and Production team, offering an opportunity to expand your digital publishing skills to support design and audio-visual services.
What you will be doing
- Supporting the production of the Queensland Government Gazette.
- Assisting the Gazette team with compiling notices to be Gazetted and ensuring all preparation and production aspects are delivered on time.
- Supporting the Gazette team with bookkeeping tasks such as preparing quotations, invoicing, and record keeping.
- Using Microsoft Office and Adobe FrameMaker to publish Gazettes on a weekly basis and the publication of Extraordinary Gazettes under irregular and urgent circumstances (training will be provided).
- Provide business support to the Communication and Engagement Branch as required.
