**Position Purpose**

A Lecturer in One Health (Level B) is expected to develop scholarly research outputs and professional activities
relevant to One Health, Veterinary Public Health and/or Veterinary Epidemiology. This position contributes to
the teaching effort of the School of Veterinary Medicine through the preparation and delivery of lectures,
tutorials, other types of teaching activities, and supervision of honours and postgraduate students and is
expected to perform a range of administrative and service functions within the College and across the
University.***

**About the Work Area**

The College of Science, Health, Engineering and Education was formed in January 2019 from an
amalgamation of the Schools of Veterinary and Life Sciences, Engineering and IT, Health Professions,
Psychology and Exercise Science, and Education. The combination of these individually strong areas has been
designed to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, academic expertise and promote strengths in research and
teaching across the sciences.

The College hosts several Disciplines:

- Environmental and Conservation Sciences
- Agricultural Sciences - Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences
- Chemistry and Physics
- Engineering and Energy
- Psychology, Counselling, Exercise Science and Chiropractic

- Veterinary Medicine

The School of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates and the
degree program has received international accreditation. A central part of the training is development of core
clinical competencies and as part of this process veterinary science students undertake training in our hospital,
clinics and clinical services.

**Key Responsibilities / Duties
1. Contribute to research, individually and as a member of a team, and produce quality publications.

3. Contribute to teaching, including preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical
classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical and studio sessions, and
marking and assessments.

4. Develop and practice innovative teaching and learning methods.

5. Consult with, and provide advice to, undergraduate, postgraduate and HDR students.

6. Coordinate units and courses.

7. Supervise honours, Masters by Coursework, and HDR students.

8. Contribute to the College, the University, the profession, and the discipline.

9. Participate in the University’s Academic Contribution Development Review (ACDR).

10. Undertake such other duties as determined by the Head of Discipline.
