Wellcare Australia is looking for a mature and experienced individuals to join our growing team of Community Workers.
About Us: Wellcare Australia promotes recovery and mental health flourishing through person-centered care and support. The core mission of Wellcare Australia is to promote and support a recovery based on hope, and an ambition for flourishing mental health, for our participants. We offer shared housing and assistance for individuals with ongoing mental health needs and are a registered NDIS provider.
Role Overview:
We seek motivated and qualified Community Support Workers for casual roles. The position involves providing holistic care within residential settings, working collaboratively with a team to support participants in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs
- Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients
- Referring clients to agencies that can provide additional help
- Assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
- Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services
- Supporting families and providing education and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions
- Assisting people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
- Preparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies
**Requirements**:
- High degree of empathy and motivation to contribute to our participant's recovery journey.
- A sincere commitment to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Experience in residential care or community settings is highly desirable.
- Valid Working with Vulnerable People clearance, National Criminal History Check, First Aid and CPR certification, Covid-19 Vaccination, NDIS Orientation Module, and COVID-19 Infection Control Module.
- Valid full Australian driver’s license and own comprehensively insured vehicle.

**Experience**:
- Mental Health Support Work: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Full Australian Drivers License (required)
- First Aid Certification (required)
- CPR Certification (required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (required)
- Working with Vulnerable People Registration (required)
