Telecommunications Interception Monitor

The Covert & Specialist Operations Group is looking for a self-motivated individual to be part of a highly dynamic operational team responsible for the conduct of lawful telecommunications interceptions on behalf of the QPS.
In this role, you will be responsible for analysing and processing raw information and providing timely operational advice for investigators and other QPS specialist areas.
Your Key Accountabilities
**The core capability requirements for this role are**:
- Perform TI monitoring duties in strict compliance with relevant legislation and QPS policies and procedures.
- Analyse and process raw information, including audio, text and data content, and summarise succinctly into accurate and timely operational advice for investigatorsand other QPS specialist areas.
- Work in a highly dynamic and sensitive operational environment requiring a high level of confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of criminal investigation practices and procedures, intelligence gathering processes and the use of technical equipment and computer systems used in the TI process.
- Identify operational information and timely intelligence of interest and communicate to shift supervisors, investigators and other specialist personnel, as required.
- Provide general advice to investigators of TI requirements in accordance with the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth) and the Telecommunications Interception Act 2009 (Qld).
- Maintain a high level of integrity at all times and actively contribute towards the physical security of the TIU premises including resources, lawfully intercepted information, warrant information and operational methodologies.
- Undertake telecommunications transcription duties where required.

Special Conditions
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo a hearing test and psychometric assessment prior to appointment. If successful, there may be a requirement to undergo regular hearing and psychometric assessments.
- Applicants are advised that, whilst performing the duties of the position, they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature that may include sexually explicit content.
- The successful applicant may be required to work at various locations within Brisbane in which the Operations Support Command conducts business.
