**Disability Support Worker - Weekend Community Access Support**:

- Location: Ferntree Gully, VIC_
- Hours: Saturdays & Sundays, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM + 1 more day of the week soon._

We are seeking a dedicated **Disability Support Worker** to provide one-on-one support to a participant living with **Schizoaffective Disorder** who uses a wheelchair.

**About the Role**:
You will be supporting the participant with **community access** on weekends, ensuring they can engage safely and confidently in activities. Your role will involve assisting with mobility, offering emotional support, and fostering independence in a respectful and empowering way.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the participant in accessing the community and attending planned activities.
- Provide mobility assistance, including safe wheelchair handling.
- Offer companionship and create a safe, positive environment.
- Follow individual support plans and communicate effectively with the team.

**About You**:

- Previous experience in disability support or mental health.
- Calm, patient, and empathetic nature with strong communication skills.
- Comfortable supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities.
- Physically capable of assisting with mobility and wheelchair transfers

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NPC / Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Driver’s Licence & own car (essential)
