Melbourne City Centre, Australia Department of Premier & Cabinet Full time

An exciting and unique opportunity is available for a motivated and talented individual to join the Forum for Truth and Recognition as the Project Officer.

In June 2023, the Victorian State Government established a Board of Inquiry into Historical Child Sexual Abuse at Beaumaris Primary School in the 1960s and 1970s, and abuse by the same employees at other government schools. The inquiry was focused on historical child sexual abuse experienced at Beaumaris Primary School and other government schools, linked to relevant perpetrators, as well as the response of the Department of Education (DE) at the time.

The Forum for Truth and Recognition will build on the work of the Board of the Inquiry to provide victim-survivors with the opportunity to engage with an impartial and transparent forum that will enable them to tell their story and have their experiences recognised.

As the Project Officer for the Forum for Truth and Recognition, you will perform a range of project support activities across the Forum.

You will undertake a range of tasks which may include project research, reporting assistance, project coordination, and administrative activities to support various teams in the design, development and implementation of various events, activities, and initiatives. You will need to demonstrate previous skills and experience in providing high level administrative support for complex and varied project initiatives, with proficiency across the MS office suite. You may be required to provide Secretariat support for committees and advisory groups.

This is a great opportunity to work in a small, dynamic team and to showcase your strong organisational, project and administrative skills with high attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.

**About you**
- Demonstrated ability to think, analyse and consider broader context to develop practical solutions, research and analyse information to make recommendations and identify issues that may hinder the completion of tasks.
- Ability to think innovatively to find appropriate solutions, with a willingness to seek input from others and share own ideas to achieve best outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in achieving results through the efficient use of resources and the ongoing pursuit of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, actively listen to others, and respond with understanding and respect.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and develop and maintain positive and effective relationships at all levels.
- Experience in dealing with confidential information and the ability to maintain professional standards of behaviour in difficult and sensitive circumstances.

**Mandatory Requirements**
- A relevant tertiary qualification whilst not mandatory, is highly desirable.

**The closing date for this position is Thursday 31 July, 2025.**

**How to apply**
- a resume; and
- a cover letter which addresses the key selection criteria (within three pages).
