Risk Manager

**About the role**

The Risk Manager: CFO will provide first line risk and compliance support for Great Southern Bank’s Chief Finance Office (CFO), supporting the execution of the Board approved Strategy.

Responsible for implementing and managing risk frameworks within the division, the Risk Manager CFO will support ongoing compliance with enterprise-wide obligations, owned by the CFO division, such as FATCA/CRS, and BEAR/FAR, ensuring that all risk, compliance, and assurance activities are undertaken in a timely, accurate and compliant manner, and escalated as needed.

This role is integral in providing Great Southern Bank with the support it needs to fulfil its purpose of helping all Australians own their own homes and achieving this in a manner that is in line with our customers’ and our regulators’ expectations. Your stakeholders span the enterprise and your influencing and negotiation skills will be core to your success.

**What we’re looking for**
- Demonstrated experience in a similar risk and/or compliance role, preferably in the 1LOD and in Banking and Financial Services Industry
- Experience in formulating and implementing compliance and compliance procedures
- High level of understanding and practical experience of Operational Risk
- Demonstrated experience with industry and governance standards (e.g. Banking Executive Accountability Regime (BEAR), Three Lines of Defence, ISO 31000, APRA CPS220)
- Strong Experience in risks relating to banking, and the legislative/regulatory requirements around these (e.g. Privacy Act, Corporations Act, NCCP Act).
- Strong understanding of industry legislation and regulatory requirements, including current and upcoming regulatory change.
- Proven ability to assess the level of risk to the business and to inform the development and execution of action plans to mitigate said risk
- Experience in managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) to balance competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations
- Strategic thinking and the ability to deliver solutions to risk and compliance issues, including experience in developing and delivering Risk and compliance strategies aimed to enhance 1LOD capability and uplift maturity.
