**People & Workplace Culture Specialist**
Narang Bir-rong Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced People & Workplace Culture Specialist to drive the human resources function of their organization, FT, Penrith.

**About the organisation**
NBAC, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Agency, was established in August 2018 with a mission to provide culturally appropriate out-of-home care, family support, and family preservation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and their families in Western Sydney, Blue Mountains, Sydney, North Sydney, Inner West, and the Sutherland Shire. Our purpose is to empower and support Aboriginal children and families, promote respect and positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community, and protect the human rights of Aboriginal children and their families.
**About the role**:
This is an opportunity creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture where employees can grow and develop and make a positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander children and families.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, Wellbeing & Corporate Services, you will be responsible for the day to day HR function.
**Responsibilities**:
- Attracting, retaining, and developing top talent through effective recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Developing and implementing training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Managing employee relations, promoting a positive company culture, and fostering diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with all employment laws and regulations and managing employee benefits programs.
- Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Overseeing HR administration, including payroll, benefits, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Driving health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
**Requirements**:
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and a respect for Aboriginal cultures, histories, and traditions.
- Experience in recruiting, selecting, and onboarding employees.
- Strong employee relations experience and knowledge of employment law and conflict resolution.
- Experience in designing and delivering training and development programs.
- Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and the ability to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
- Proficiency in HR administration, record-keeping, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
**Essential**:
- Valid NSW Driver’s license
- Probity checks including NSW Working with Children’s check & National Police Check
- Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
