**Job description**:
Your unique contribution is the design, placement and management of a secure, cost effective and comprehensive corporate insurance program to transfer the inherent risk associated with IAG operating its insurance and ancillary businesses through insurance.

In this role you will provide highly informed and commercially sound technical expertise and advice to the business in managing the financial and general lines insurance policies that make up the IAG corporate insurance program in line with the board approved corporate insurance strategy.

You will also contribute to the wider Strategy Innovation & Underwriting (SIU) team building strong team relationships as well with other IAG internal and external stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- In conjunction with IAG’s corporate insurance broker, designing, placing and managing the corporate insurance program at terms and conditions most favourable to IAG in line with the board approved corporate insurance strategy.
- Engaging with the IAG business divisions to ascertain the risk exposures encountered by IAG in its operations that can be transferred through the purchase of insurance.
- Evaluating and quantifying these risk exposures, obtaining information and details to permit appropriate transfer of the identified risk exposures to the insurance market.
- Managing the timely notification and effective negotiation through to settlement of all corporate insurance claims at terms most favourable to IAG.
- Collaborate with IAG business units in defining, sourcing and the provision of underwriting data and information for the placement and renewal of the IAG corporate insurance program.
- Work closely with IAG Group Legal in ensuring all matters that may give rise to a claim under IAG’s financial lines policies are identified and correctly notified to insurers in a timely manner, and are professionally managed to resolution.
- Provide sound professional advice to IAG business units on contractual exposures and insurance and risk transfer options as they negotiate contracts and service agreements with outside suppliers.
- Provide sound professional advice to IAG business units on exposures and insurance and risk transfer options as they consider potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Processing and administering all documentation within the corporate insurance programs and operations including processing invoices for payment.
- Ensuring that all the corporate insurance procedures and processes are properly documented and stored within the IAG systems and that they are available as appropriate to appropriately authorised IAG personnel.
- Prepare and provide formal reports to the Chief Underwriting Officer, GLT Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee, as requested and/or as appropriate.
- Call and arrange underwriting and claims meetings with IAG’s insurers as required (renewal, claims and others).
- Supporting, the team in delivering on the broader business accountabilities and strategies of the team and IAG more generally. Adding positively to the “IAG culture” and “IAG spirit “.
- Managing IAG’s relationship with the appointed corporate insurance broker to ensure the best outcomes for IAG in the placement and management of IAG’s corporate insurance policies, and in the management and recovery of IAG’s Corporate insurance claims.
- Acting within the delegated authority levels in all actions and decisions, escalating decisions to the next level people manager where required and appropriate.

- A natural risk awareness and questioning approach in all activities and dealings
- An ability to manage several competing tasks at once, maintaining a watchful eye on work volume and service levels.
- Strong attention to detail and proven organisational skills
- Strong communication skills, with proven success in collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Proven success in presenting concepts and plans to executive level company managers including board level.
- Ability to work at both a high strategic level and an operational level with a “hands on approach” and “can do attitude”.
