About the School
Grantham State School is a Prep to Year 6 school located in the heart of the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane. We currently have 91 students enrolled in 5 multi-age classes. Students are nurtured in a warm and caring environment. The school is small enough to retain a family atmosphere, where everyone is known by name, but big enough to offer a broad range of experiences to all students. The school was opened in 1905 and the main building dates from 1912. Over the years this building has been extended and other buildings have been added to the site. Every building is air-conditioned, including the new library opened in late 2011.
About the Role
As Principal, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
