The City of Tea Tree Gully is a progressive north-east Adelaide council renown for innovation and service excellence. The Council supports community, stimulate the economy and create a vibrant and accessible city. Large-scale renewal and development is driving strong economic and employment growth in the region. Following the appointment of a new CEO, there is now an outstanding opportunity for a General Manager of Community Services to join the organisation and lead the strategic planning, and delivery of a range of community programs and services.

The General Manager Community Services, will directly report to the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and lead a team of managers across a variety of community portfolios including wellbeing, safety, city development and recreation and leisure services. This position will effectively lead and execute the delivery of all community services and programs in the community that service the members directly. This role is accountable for the business planning and development of efficient systems and processes for the community portfolio across the key areas of people and financial management, customer service standards, community engagement, procurement and contract management. The General Manager Community Services will be measured on the high level of successful engagement with all relevant stakeholders to achieve not only outcomes for now, but to be strategic in the identification of new and emerging opportunities for council to explore and pursue.

The General Manager, Community Services will come with a suitably qualified background in health, community services, sport and recreation or business administration. You will be able to demonstrate your expertise in negotiations and your innovative approach coupled with a superior level of political astuteness. You will have worked in a complex environment in an aligned organisation with diversity of service portfolios. You will come with experience managing a cross organisational budget and teams.
