About the Role
- To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care by
- Assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations;
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant;
- Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatients only);
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent;
- Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patients ongoing clinical care;
- Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary; and
- Ensure timely, effective and appropriate clinical handover with other staff and healthcare providers.
- Participate, supervise and co-ordinate research of both a clinical and laboratory nature including with members of the Translational Research Institute (TRI) at Princess Alexandra Hospital where appropriate, and under the supervision of the Director of the Breast & Endocrine Surgery Unit.
- Conduct inpatient and outpatient care, including but not limited to ward rounds, outpatient clinics, the Emergency Department and Operating Theatres
