As Manager, Risk and Governance, reporting to the Business Manager, Risk, you’ll oversee Non-Financial, Regulatory, and Compliance Risk activities in the 1st Line of Defence for Risk Management. Your role involves guiding Risk teams in identifying and managing non-financial risks in alignment with our Risk Appetite Statement, policies, and regulatory requirements. You’ll play a critical part in developing and maintaining the Business Risk Profile.
In this position, you’ll offer valuable support to key committees and governance structures at ING, chaired or led by the Chief Risk Officer. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring strategic alignment and interdependencies within the Risk Management unit across various areas such as strategic planning, finance, transformation, and governance.
What you’ll do
**Risk Support**: Assist teams in identifying, assessing, and managing non-financial risks; maintain business risk profile.
**Control Management**: Develop and monitor controls; conduct control testing; address control gaps.
**Reporting & Analysis**: Provide insights on control activities to support risk leadership.
**Process Improvement**: Enhance processes, tools, and systems for risk management.
**Governance**: Support committees with minutes, reports, and follow-ups.
**Operational Monitoring**: Review business operations and performance, including FTE and budget.
**Team Events & Initiatives**: Organise team events/briefings and manage continuous improvement projects.
**Strategic Support**: Assist with presentations and communications for the Risk function.
What we’re looking for
Exceptional problem solving and critical analysis skills
7+ years’ experience within the banking sector.
5+ years’ experience in non-financial risk or compliance roles.
Experience in developing and delivering training to diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with non-financial risk concepts and frameworks.
Proven ability to document and improve processes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Effective work planning and organisational abilities.
Exceptional skills in managing and influencing stakeholders.
Keen eye for detail and passion for data insights.
