**About the Role**

We have an exciting newly established role for an experienced and forward-thinking Governance and Risk expert to join Canada Bay Council. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the team to support and facilitate a range of key functions.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Effectively lead the Governance and Risk business areas
- Providing expert advice to various stakeholders on statutory and regulatory reporting
- Assisting in the oversight of Councils Audit and Risk Management programs including internal audit, the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee, Councils risk management program and insurances and premiums.
- Providing accurate Governance advice in areas such as council meeting processes, delegations, policy development and public interest disclosures.
- Coordination of Councils business paper function (including agenda and minutes, attend council/committee meetings, actions and relevant reporting to the Executive and Leadership Teams.
- Deliver and complete a range governance services and projects across Council.

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications (Risk, Governance or related) and/or relevant experience
- Experience in leading, managing and mentoring a small Risk and Governance team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams across Council.
- Ability to multitask and adhere to strict deadlines.
