Better understanding how people move around our cities is crucial to the planning of new transport infrastructure and services; location choice and land use development; and the design and delivery of advertising (known as audience measurement). The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional Data Scientist to join our team. We are open to applicants located in either Brisbane or Melbourne.

About You

**Essential skills**
- Some data engineering experience
- Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, SQL, R, or similar)
- Knowledge of software development practices (CI/CD, version control)
- Problem-solving skills
- Statistical knowledge
- Some practical experience in machine learning
- Ability to simplify and explain complex technical processes and results to a non-technical audience

**Desirable** skills**
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Experience with spatial data and data formats (Geographic Information Systems)
- Experience with handling sensitive data

Educated to tertiary level in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a similar field.
