**About the Role**
Seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Safety & Compliance Officer. In this role you will provide an efficient and effective regulatory & enforcement service, focusing on compliance issues, relative to relevant Acts, other statutory requirements and council polices. This role investigates, assesses, determines and resolves customer service requests, enquiries and complaints in a timely customer focused and professional manner in compliance with and meeting the provisions of applicable Acts, regulations and other statutory requirements.
**What you will be doing**:
- Investigate, assess, determine and resolve customer service requests, enquiries and complaints in a timely customer focused and professional manner, in compliance with and meeting the provisions of applicable Acts, regulations and other statutory requirements
- Operate licence plate recognition vehicle
- Conduct regular routine parking patrols of car parks, roads and school zones, issue infringement notices
- Enforce the regulatory aspects of the Companion Animals Act and Regulations with respect to complaints regarding nuisance animals, dog attaches and impounding activities, competently handle animals as required
- Issue notices/orders and penalty infringement notices pursuant to the Companion Animals Act and Regulations, carry out inspections for dangerous/menacing/ nuisance dogs
- Investigate and process abandoned motor vehicles in accordance to Public Space (Unattended Property) Act 2021 and relevant procedures
- Enforce legislative requirements in relation to abandoned articles, unauthorised signs on Council roads/property, obstructions. encroachments on Council property
- Investigate asset defects, reports of authorised development, property complaints, pollution and illegal dumping incidents and offences
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate IV Government Investigations or another related discipline or equivalent relevant industry experience
- Class C Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Traffic Controller & Implement Traffic Control Plans licence
- White Card
- First Aid and CPR accreditation
**Position details**:
Permanent full-time role, S1095 Salary: Starting From $80K per annum + Superannuation + To and From Council Work Vehicle
Salary will be based on qualifications, expertise, experience and knowledge
Work hours spread over seven (7) days, Monday to Sunday on a rotational roster, including after hours call outs and required public holidays
