**The Resilient and Connected Communities Department proactively looks at our communities needs now and into the future, planning through policy, advocacy, programming, engagement, and partnerships.**

**The Community Resilience and Health unit consists of the Emergency Management, Public Health Protection and Community Resilience program areas that work together to build capacity across community in public health and wellbeing and environmental health, emergency management, and community resilience and safety.**

**The Community Resilience and Health unit is responsible for the development of fully integrated strategic and operational plans to respond to incidents affecting the community and to promote and maintain high standards of emergency management, public health and wellbeing and community resilience and preparedness across Banyule.**

**The role**:
**The Community Resilience & Technical Health Officer works within the Community Resilience team and in conjunction with the Public Health Protection **team on matters relating to the Public Health and Wellbeing Act, Environment **Protection Act, and Tobacco Control Act. The role provides expertise and **technical guidance using a community resilience framework and identifies **complexities placing positive outcomes for the community at the centre of **everything we do.**

**Skills, experience and certificates**:

- **Tertiary qualifications in Public Health and/or Environmental Health, or relevant disciplines will be highly regarded.**:

- **Demonstrated relevant work experience, or significant experience in enforcement, prosecutions or investigations in relation the Public Health and Wellbeing Act and Environment Protection Act.**:

- **Demonstrated experience in providing exemplary customer service to resolve complex and adverse circumstances including mediation and conflict resolution.**:

- **Demonstrated experience in community engagement, including information sharing and education on public health and environment concerns.**:

- **Ability to undertake professional investigations and monitoring as required when complaints have been raised.**:

- **Ability to gain cooperation in adverse circumstances and identify relevant partners to support positive and mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties.**:

- **Well developed written and verbal communication skills.**:

- **Ability to successfully liaise with a range of organisations and professionals.**
