We’re looking for an innovative and driven Zero Carbon Officer to lead the way in delivering our Council’s ambitious goal of Carbon neutrality by 2028. Join us to influence and support significant projects that shape our community’s greener tomorrow

**About the Role**:
In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with Project Managers to ensure our major community facilities—including leisure centers and civic buildings and adhere to our ‘Sustainable Building Guidelines.’

As our Zero Carbon Officer, you will:

- **Drive Carbon Reduction Initiatives**:Identify and implement key activities like energy efficiency improvements, building electrification, LED lighting upgrades, and the use of sustainable materials.
- **Champion the ‘Sustainable Building Guidelines’**:Provide critical scoping support and technical insights to ensure all capital works projects reflect our commitment to sustainability.
- **Advise and Inspire**:Work with a range of stakeholders to promote best practices and ensure project adherence to carbon reduction standards.

**About You**:
You’re passionate about sustainable development and equipped with the expertise to lead impactful emissions reduction projects. You bring both technical and interpersonal skills to mobilize change and foster a greener future for our community. Key qualifications and skills include:

- A degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably in energy or environmental sectors.
- Strong expertise in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and renewable energy solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze, conceptualize, and balance multiple tasks effectively under time constraints.
- Solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and risk management principles.

**Mandatory Pre-employment requirement**:

- Current Driver's Licence
