**Who we are**
People Division, led by the Chief People Officer (CPO), provides human resources (HR) functions for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) with a clear focus on the department’s most valued asset: its staff. Alongside contemporary HR functions, projects and strategies People Division is also responsible for:

- Enhancing the department’s focus on safety
- Enterprise bargaining
- Cultural and change management
- The department’s response to Australian Public Service (APS) reforms

People Safety, Support and Wellbeing Branch (PSSW) is responsible for leading the department’s approach to providing a safe and respectful workplace, including health, safety and wellbeing strategies and change management practices. The PSSW Branch also provides a strategic partnership offering for Parks Australia and the Australian Antarctic Division, working with these divisions to develop and deliver a suite of HR strategies to manage complex risks associated with these operational areas. The PSSW Branch is responsible for:

- Work, Health and Safety
- Enterprise Change Management
- Australian Antarctic Division HR Support
- People Support and Wellbeing

**The Job**
Responsibilities may include:

- Provide change management support, expert advice, and practical assistance to business areas.
- Design, deliver and evaluate tailored change management approaches to ensure impacted stakeholders are aware, ready and supported to adopt change. This may include change management plans, stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, communication products, training plans and stakeholder engagement workshops.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate with Sponsors (Senior Executives) and/or project managers on change management initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and embedding of the Enterprise Change Management Framework.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of change maturity activities such as a Community of Practice, Change Agent Network and capability initiatives.
- Manage a small team, balance resources and competing priorities in a pressured environment.

- Experience working on a change project, including developing and executing communication, training and/or change management plans.
- Highly developed communication skills to inform and positively influence decision-making.
- The ability to think creatively and analytically to solve problems tailored to the stakeholder context and adapt the course of action to meet emerging strategic and operational requirements.
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to develop and nurture stakeholder relationships and networks.
- Experience managing staff and effectively prioritising resources to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- A demonstrated commitment to championing people centred design and delivery.

**Desirable qualifications**
- Experience in a change management role.
- Tertiary qualifications in human sciences or similar fields.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a **Baseline Vetting** security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

**Pre-employment Check** - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
