Reporting to the Group Communications Manager and Corporate Relations Business Unit, you will ensure nib’s communications with travellers, customers, shareholders, community, media, and other key stakeholders is accurate, consistent and in accordance with the company’s position and strategic objectives.
You will support the development of proactive and reactive media and communications activities for the nib Travel business - nib Travel Insurance, World Nomads and Travel Insurance Direct. You will help develop and manage relationships with the nib Travel external agencies in Australia, the US, and UK to support regular media pitches to widen brand awareness through earned media.
You will also work closely with the nib Travel Global Marketing and Brand team to produce content for the nib travel businesses across all locations and l play a key role in managing external crisis communications for the nib Travel business, including management of reputational issues.
Let’s talk about you- Experience in drafting and preparing media releases and corporate communications collateral, including preparation of issues management communications materials- Experience preparing media statements and fielding media enquiries within tight deadlines as well as liaising with key media on a day-to-day basis- The ability to work within a team environment and be accountable for results achieved- Ability to be a proactive, flexible, self-starter- The ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships in a fast paced, changing environment- Experience working with external PR agencies to support with the development of day-to-day media and communications activities to help drive business strategy- The ability to work outside standard hours and attend meetings regularly to match stakeholder time zones in Australia, the UK, US, South America and as needed- Great understanding of social media and an ability to write to that audience- Meticulous attention to detail
