**About the Business Unit**:
The **Department of Justice and Community Safety**(DJCS, the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.

The **People, Safety, Culture, and Communications**(PSCC) business unit provides a range of services supporting our people and workplaces including human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment and retention; performance and development; pay and rostering, benefits, and workforce reporting; safety and wellbeing; workplace relations; and employee conduct. PSCC promotes a culture to engage and develop the workforce, providing every person with the opportunity to unlock and achieve their potential.

**People Services**:

- The **Payroll Services and Workforce Data**team within PSCC consists of Payroll Operations, Rostering Operations, Workforce Data Reporting, and HR Systems. This team is responsible for delivering exceptional payroll services, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This includes managing intricate processes of employee rostering, maintaining the integrity of HR systems, and generating insightful reports to assist with workforce planning and governance.

**Rostering Operations**is a centralised team within the People, Safety, Culture and Communications business unit. The team provides on-site support across multiple Corrections Victoria locations that utilise TimeTarget.

**TimeTarget**is the department's workforce management system, integral to all rostering processes that impact payroll.

TimeTarget:

- Enables retrospective payment of all employee entitlements including base pay, penalties, and overtime for the fortnight just worked.
- Provides built-in criteria to assist with filling vacant shifts, where possible attempting to maintain an even distribution of opportunities for all employees.
- Provides employees with 24-hour, seven day a week access to their own data such as rosters, timesheets, leave management including balances and self-managed availability via TimeTarget Employee Self Service (ESS).
- TimeTarget captures time and attendance based on biometric scan data. This scan data is captured by employees interacting with a biometric scanning device at the start and end, of every shift. Scan times captured will start/ end a timesheet based on the associated rostered shift which will automatically authorise if within the pre-determined system tolerances.

TimeTarget has two main components:

- ESS - used by all custodial employees rostered in TimeTarget.

**About the Role**:
In the role of an Officer, Rostering Operations, Some of your duties will include:

- Prepare and publish fortnightly rosters, up to 8 weeks in advance and maintain rosters daily.
- Perform daily quality checks and manually authorise any required outstanding timesheet exceptions from the previous working day.
- Perform daily and fortnightly salary checks and payroll previews and resolve anomalies to ensure the accuracy of all timesheets and payroll data for Payroll processing.

NB* Officers operate on a rotating 14-day roster, which involves weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provisions of the **VPS Enterprise Agreement**

**About You**:

- Knowledge and experience in rostering, human resource services and/ or payroll, within complex custodial environments is highly desirable
- Experience and proficiency in the use of TimeTarget, Chris21 and/ or other rostering and payroll systems is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret and provide advice on departmental policies and, enterprise awards and agreements is highly desirable.
