**About the role**
Hawthorn-Melbourne has been offering English language courses to international students for almost 40 years. Our students come from all over the world to study English with us and have a broad range of objectives and needs, which we aim to satisfy through the wide variety of courses and support services we offer.
As international students continue to return to our shores in greater numbers, there are opportunities to join the team at Hawthorn-Melbourne. We are seeking a Student Services Manager to lead our Student Services team.
Working in consultation with the Principal, Hawthorn-Melbourne, the Student Services Manager plays a key role in the experience of students and other visitors to our school. As a team, Student Services aim to welcome, engage and support students throughout their journey at Hawthorn-Melbourne, complete a range of associated administrative tasks, and assist both internal and external stakeholders by providing a high standard of service to all. All duties are completed in compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
**Essential**
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interact well with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Sensitivity to student and staff needs.
- Diligent, organised and able to prioritise.
- Ability to lead a team effectively in achieving agreed goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in using MS Office software.
- Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
**Desirable**
- Previous experience in a relevant management role.
- Background working in Education, especially in the ELICOS industry.
- Experience organising events and activities for students.
- Experience using a student management system (e.g. Becas)
- Experience using a learning management system (e.g. Moodle)
- Experience dealing with student accommodation.
- Experience in handling payments and receipting.
- Relevant qualifications, including those related to administration and student welfare.
