**Position Description**

**JOB TITLE**:
Disability Support Worker

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
A Disability Support Worker provides assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Duties may include personal care, transportation, medication administration, meal preparation, household tasks, and emotional support. They may also assist with accessing community services and activities, and advocating for the individual's rights and needs. Effective communication, empathy, and flexibility are key qualities for success in this role.

- An elderly male living with mental disability,
- Very easy going and good natured
- 3 hours daily 7 am to 10 am
- Availability on weekends/public holidays too

**TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Casual_

**REPORT TO**:

- Client Coordinator_
- Bhuwan Khadka_

**LOCATION**:

- Mandurah_

**MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Meal preparation,
- domestic assistance,
- check medications,
- prompting of chores and personal hygiene (no assistance with personal hygiene needed)
- Social support in local community
- Attend appointments
- Drive client where he needs to go

**QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS**:

- Cert III Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, Disability Work or similar.
- Current WWCC, Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Screening Check and Induction
- COVID Safe Training
- Driver’s License
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Smart phone

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum 6 months relevant experience
- Experience supporting People with Disability.
- Demonstrated Continuing Professional Development.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles

**SKILLS**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record keeping.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 20 per week
