**Your new role**

Opportunity for a **Support Worker **to join Vinnies NSW homelessness and housing services. In this vital and rewarding role you will be providing on site support to children, young people and families who are have been impacted by family violence. You will also assist in the entry and assessment of new clients at the site, and in the daily running of the site. To be successful in this role you **must be comfortable and willing to be a solo worker** on site during night shifts.

**Role responsibilities include**:

- Provide a variety of supports to clients and work in cooperation with the case management division in a way that is consistent with a client’s case plan.
- Maintain daily records & assist in all aspects of providing accommodation services for clients.
- Handing emergency referrals of clients from other services.
- Maintain client records and case notes, both electronic and hand written, in a professional manner
- Liaise with appropriate service staff to ensure client needs are attended to in an effective and efficient manner
- Responsible for managing the flow of clients and visitors in the building in a safe and responsible manner as set out in service procedure.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience and or willingness to work independently/without supervision.
- Appropriate Certificate or equivalent experience or currently undertaking tertiary study, in a related field.
- Ability to work night shifts on a rotating roster (including at weekends)
- Current first aid certificate or willingness to complete this before commencement.
- It is a condition of employment that you comply with the **Society’s Pandemic Policy - COVID-19 and Public Health Orders** in order to work in or enter Society facilities. In accordance with our policy, you will be required to provide **evidence of your vaccination status or a valid medical exemption** as part of the resourcing process
