
Case Officer, Victorian Civil and Administrative

VCAT is seeking a service oriented, highly organised Case Officer to work as part of a team within our Human Rights Division.
The Human Rights Division hears cases under the Guardianship and Administration Act 2019, Medical Treatment Planning and Decisions Act 2016, Powers of Attorney Act 2014, Equal Opportunity Act 2010, Health Records Act 2001, Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014, Disability Act 2006, Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to make a genuine contribution by delivering effective and efficient guardianship and human rights services to the community of Victoria.
About the role
Case Officers individually manage a caseload of around 80-150 cases at a given time. All cases vary in risk and complexity, and are at various stages of the VCAT process.

**To ensure success in the role you will have**:
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers to understand and deliver on service needs
- Demonstrated ability to process high volumes of complex information with efficiency and accuracy
- Exceptional self-management, planning and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team
- Adaptability when communicating with users
- Experience working with people who are at risk or have complex needs
- Technical proficiency in HRD legislations and work practices (desirable, not mandatory)
- Experience working within an area with vulnerable users (desirable, not mandatory).
