**About the Position**

The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for undertaking local communication activities in support of the federal election.

**Position Duties**:

- Contribute to local communications strategy development and direction in consultation the state office executive team and national office business areas.
- Write and edit a range of communication materials, including articles, documents, web content, presentations and other materials.
- Undertake and occasionally lead project tasks and activities, including potential management of consultants and suppliers.
- Build and maintain effective network relationships with officers at various levels of the AEC, and a range of stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvements by identifying and implementing improved work practices and process.
- Support the state executive team as required.
- Experience in a communications or marketing role.
- The ability to swiftly cultivate and maintain effective working relationships is essential. The successful applicant will liaise with the AEC State Office Executive and the divisional network, as well as a range of other internal and external audiences.
- Knowledge and experience in successfully completing allocated tasks, accepting stated importance of tasks and to a compliant standard while delivering results within competing timeframes and priorities;
- Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative, policy and budget parameters.
