**About the role**

This position is responsible for carrying out the statutory enforcement of relevant Acts and regulations in respect to Boarding Houses.

On a daily basis you will:

- Manage the Boarding Houses program in the Parramatta Local Government Area to ensure compliance of registered premises with the applicable standards and/or legislation.
- Participate in a team environment in programmed inspections related to boarding houses and be available for after-hours inspections as required.
- Investigate and resolve customer requests/complaints relative to unauthorised boarding houses.
- Provide technical advice and services to assist the Team Leader Building Compliance (Technical), as well as providing building and compliance advice to customers and stakeholders in respect to Boarding Houses.
- Being responsive to community expectations through education within a regulatory role.
- Participate in a team environment in programmed inspections related to boarding houses to ensure safety and legislative compliance.

**About You**

It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have:

- Previous experience in investigations
- Working knowledge of legislation relevant to the position.
- Knowledge in Building Compliance, planning or investigations.

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Town Planning, Investigations or related discipline.
- A current, valid Class C drivers licence.

**What’s on offer**

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $90,298 to $99,439 p.a. plus 11% superannuation
- Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme will also be discussed with the successful applicant.
