EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.

**About the Opportunity**

Our EnergyCo NSW Planning and Communities team is currently seeking multiple Planning and Policy Officers to join a dynamic and growing team, working on the design and development of Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) in regional New South Wales. This role plays a key part in ensuring the successful attainment of statutory planning approvals and the implementation of strategic planning initiatives. Successful applicants will engage with statutory consent authorities, referral agencies, and other external stakeholders, driving forward critical projects that contribute to the future of renewable energy in Australia. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in high-impact projects, fostering growth and community benefit in regional areas. As part of a growing team, you will play an integral role in a fast passed, busy and dynamic team. The work itself will adapt and change over time in line with the projects that we work on.

You will bring relevant tertiary qualifications in planning, environmental studies, law, infrastructure development, renewable energy generation, or related fields, with a current Australian driver’s license (Class C minimum) to allow for travel as required.

You will bring your professional expertise to the role, with a demonstrated understanding of the Environment Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and other relevant legislation governing land use and environmental planning in NSW. **Essential Requirements**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the fields of planning, environmental studies, law, linear infrastructure development, renewable energy generation and/or other relevant discipline
- Current Australian Drivers licence (Class C minimum) and willingness to travel.

**Who we are?**

The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
