Whs Coordinator/ Oosh Educator

**KPS OOSH is looking for an WHS coordinator/Educator with the following**:

- A strong ability to supervise, care for and actively interact with children in a range of activities.
- A strong ability to build strong and respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of the school aged care learning framework “My Time, Our place”.
- Knowledge of the 7 National Quality Standards.
- A current Working with Children’s Check for paid employment.
- A current HLTAID004 first aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
- A current CHCPRT001 Child protection training certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with school-aged children is desirable but not essential. MUST be available for at least 20 hours a week and be available for 3 afternoons a week 2:45 - 6:30 and during school holidays.

**The Centre shifts hours from Monday - Friday are**:

- Before School Care: 7:00am - 9:00am
- After School Care: 3:00pm - 6:30pm
- Vacation Care: 7:00am - 6:30pm

**Specific Responsibilities for Work Health and Safety Coordinator**:

- Be aware of and comply with the service’s Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Take reasonable care to protect own safety in the workplace and work in a safe manner, in compliance with approved safe work practices.
- Plan and participate in emergency and evacuation procedures in collaboration with the Nominated Supervisor every 3 months.
- Maintain and update the centres emergency management plan.
- Report any emergency to the most senior educator and assist as directed.
- Complete WHS checklist (indoor and outdoor) each day and report any faulty equipment and hazards to the Nominated Supervisor as soon as possible
- Review safety checks annually.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment before, during and after the completion of the session as per the daily cleaning checklists.
- Assist in maintaining the work environment to minimise risk to children, educators, and visitors to the service.
- Assist the coordinator with the development and review of risk assessments as the need arises or annually.
- Conduct first aid kit audits monthly and notify the Nominated Supervisor of concerns and stock requirements/replenishments.
- Maintain and update the emergency evacuation backpack monthly.
- Report serious incidents to the regulatory authority as required in collaboration with the nominated supervisor and present educator.
- Arrange for fixings of furniture and other broken resources and equipment in need of repair.
- Report WHS concerns to management and school if required and ensure they are attended to.
- Organising first aid (every 3 years) /CPR (annually) training for educators.
- Keep an up-to-date register of all hazardous chemicals and provide MSDS sheets for every chemical.
- Organise manual handling course for all staff annually.
- Ensure all medical management plans and risk minimisation plans are up to date.
- Ensure all new children who begin at the service with medication needs fill in correct forms.
- Ensure that medication is within date and registered.
- Ensure any incident forms are correctly filled and filed weekly.
- Ensure all food safety documentation is up to date.
- Conducting a WHS agenda for our Staff meetings twice a term and passing this information onto the nominated supervisor.
- Additional tasks may be required at the request of the nominated supervisor.
