Post Doctoral Translational Research Officer

**About the role**:

- The Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing is seeking a Postdoctoral Translational Research Officer to support implementation of Centre's first _Translational Research Strategy 2024-2027_. This role will be instrumental in supporting research initiatives that bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring tangible improvements in mental health and wellbeing services across Victoria.
- Reporting to the Translational Research Strategy Implementation Lead, the Postdoctoral Translational Research Officer will support translational research projects and initiatives, as well as project-related consultations with stakeholders, including the Collaborative Centre's Lived Experiences Advisory Panel (LEAP), the Department of Health, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), peak bodies, people with lived and living experiences, and Victoria's mental health workforces.

**Accountabilities**:

- Support implementation of the Collaborative Centre's translational research strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities, working collaboratively with partners, stakeholders, and contractors to design and deliver impactful translational research initiatives.
- Attend and present research findings at relevant research meetings, and national and international conferences.
- Support the management of projects funded by the Collaborative Centre and contribute to proposals and submissions for additional funding, including those aligned with Victorian State budget processes.
- Support development of appropriate research methodologies and approaches, particularly those that champion lived experience leadership and engagement.
- Develop and implement processes or strategies to ensure the meaningful engagement and full participation of those with lived and living experiences to support the Collaborative Centre's work.
- Support the development of more junior research colleagues through mentoring and supervision, such as PhD researchers within the Collaborative Centre.

**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of conducting mental health and wellbeing and/or social policy related research.
- Completed a PhD or equivalent qualification in mental health and wellbeing research or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with people that have a past or current lived experience of mental ill-health or psychological distress is preferable.
