As a Data Protection Steward you are responsible for supporting and executing on data protection and privacy activities for Tribes and/or program of work. By advancing data protection standards you ensure our customer’s personal and sensitive data is safe and help the bank meet regulatory and compliance standards for data privacy.

Interfacing closely with the Business Domain, IT Custodians, Architects, Delivery Squads and Data Governance team, the Data Protection Steward supports the Data/Asset Owner to fulfil data protection/privacy requirements, be accountable for data accuracy and transparency, and be an active advocate for upholding the core Personal Data protection principles

Data steward Career has in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of the development, recommendation and implementation of cost-effective frameworks and policies (controls) to minimize the organisation’s risks effects. Identifies, analyses, monitors potential sources of loss in a complex environment to minimize risk, and estimates the potential financial consequences of an occurring loss.

**What are you going to do? You’ll be**
- As a Sr Data Steward, you will work in a team with other data analysts and developers.
- Maintain Data Quality, (Metadata Management), and other stakeholders and tribes to balance business outcomes with sound data management principles for a sustainable Information Management practice.
- Support Tribes and COEs to achieve compliance of their assets as part of the critical program of GDPP Retention Deletion
- Track compliance progress and surface any issues/blockers ahead in time
- Embed data protection stewardship as a best practice in our information management processes and support data advocacy towards a data privacy-driven culture at ING
- Analyse, query and manipulate data according to defined business rules and procedures.
- Develop and execute data clean up measures.
- Resolve all internal data exceptions in timely and accurate manner.

**What are we looking for? Someone who has**
- 10 + year strong engineering background, preferably with experience in building and maintaining databases.
- Good experience Data Governance/ Protection & privacy in MS SQL Server
- Data Modelling & data Analysis
- Knowledge of risk management techniques and risk related regulations
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills
- Good to have exposure in Tableau or related reporting skills.
