About the role
- The purpose of this position is to provide professional and operational management, clinical practice supervision and strategic leadership for a team of Dietitians and Clinical Assistants (Dietetics).
- The position delivers advanced level nutrition and dietetic services to stakeholders/customers of the Caboolture, Kilcoy and Woodford district, to achieve excellence in patient care, education and research.
- Reporting to the Director of Dietetics and Food Services, this position also contributes to service development, education, research and overall operational management of the department.

The successful applicant will carry out the following accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values:
Clinical Practice
- Independently deliver advanced Nutrition & Dietetic clinical and consultancy services across a broad range of clinical areas in accordance with accepted professional practices, standards and principles.
- Lead the development of evidenced based clinical practices, procedures, protocols and education materials to improve the delivery of dietetic services

Communication / Team Participation
- Provide high level advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other relevant stakeholders on: leading service quality and improvement activities, clinical service development and delivery, and contributing to formal research.

Leadership / Work Unit Management
- Operationally and professionally manage and coordinate a medium-sized team of Dietitians including responsibility for
- HR activities such as managing recruitment, orientation, and performance appraisal and development of staff
- Supplying strategic direction in accordance with Metro North HHS planning and state-wide priorities
- Fostering a team environment to ensure achievement of departmental objectives
- Actively contributing to Nutrition & Dietetic workforce planning and resource management to meet service requirements.
