Are you up for the challenge?
**John Holland is currently seeking a People Advisor to join the Rail & Transport team in Pyrmont, Sydney.**
As People Advisor, you will work closely with projects providing HR advice on matters such as recruitment, on-boarding, training and development, performance management, remuneration and cultural diversity.
**Responsibilities of the role include;**
- Build positive relationships through influence and negotiation with employees, managers, subcontractors, and external stakeholder groups across the business
- Prepare and conduct induction programs for new employees as required, supporting the HR Advisor where required
- Assist in the implementation of training and development initiatives in the organisation
- Provide advice to employees and managers on the organisation’s performance management process and system
- Assist to obtain recommendations on salary benchmarking and remunerations packages
- Deliver presentations, facilitate meetings and engage with various work groups to achieve desired outcomes
- Provide counselling and support to managers and employees with regard to problems affecting work performance
- Promote the awareness of the EAP and assist employees in need of support
- Build and encourage cultural diversity
**To be successful in this key role, you must have;**
- Degree or higher in Business, Human Resource Management, Legal, Finance or other associated disciplines
- Strong understanding of Employment law and ER
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of national and state regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of contractual and commercial awareness
