Communications & Engagement Advisor required for an initial 12 month temporary role
Your new company
Our client is a State Government entity responsible for major project work in Tasmania. They are looking for an experienced Communications and Engagement Advisor to play a central role in the successful implementation of a major project.
Your new role
As the Communications and Engagement Advisor, you will report to the Project Director and be responsible for developing and implementing all communications and community engagement activities for internal and external audiences associated with the project. Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating cross-Government communications and engagement activities with agencies associated with the project to ensure a centralised and consistent approach.
- Coordinating the production of communications material including publications, multimedia and audio-visual materials to ensure consistency with policy and style guidelines.
- Contributing content towards the internal communications channels.
- Coordinating with and supporting relevant media teams from agencies associated with the project undertaking research for media enquiries and preparing draft media releases, background information and speech notes.
- Coordinating and supporting the preparation of government briefings and ministerial responses associated with the project.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring significant communications experience, with expertise in delivering project communications, including:
- A proven ability to concisely and clearly deliver a broad range of communications, including print, online, social media and face-to-face, to effectively meet project objectives.
- Experience in responding to community enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Well-developed computer skills, including a proven ability to maintain/update websites, and a demonstrated understanding of online communications and desktop publishing.
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to play a central role in the successful delivery of government project communications. This is an initial 12 month assignment with the potential for extension, offering an hourly rate equivalent to State Government Band 7 level.
