**The Role**
The Sustainability Specialist’s role is to support the Sustainability Manager in delivering EVT’s Elevate sustainability strategy across EVT Group locations in Australia and New Zealand. The role is responsible for coordinating and delivering key programmes of work across the Elevate strategy and managing a wide range of projects and relationships internally and externally to demonstrate that EVT is a socially and environmentally responsible business.
Key accountabilities:
- **Project delivery**:Develop and implement project delivery plans for Sustainability-related projects in support of achieving the Elevate strategy and key Sustainability targets.
- **Reporting and data management**:Build and maintain database of ESG data points and develop and implement ESG data improvement plan to meet current and future reporting requirements in collaboration with functional leads across the business. Support the Sustainability Manager by coordinating delivery of inputs for Sustainability reports and disclosures and managing requests for information from clients and investors.
- **Sustainability Expertise**:Continuously build Sustainability expertise, staying up to date with emerging trends, global and national frameworks and best practice across all aspects of Sustainability (Environment, Social Impact and Governance) and collaborate with a range of technical disciplines to support positive Sustainability outcomes for key projects.
- **Stakeholder engagement**:Champion Sustainability at all levels to support ongoing Sustainability focus including maintaining strong relationships with industry groups, peer organisations and other partners and ensuring that opportunities for aligned impact and recognition are realised and risks are managed.
- **Communications**:Leverage Sustainability initiatives internally and externally to generate value for EVT through communications and external engagement, identifying and drafting content to highlight EVT’s sustainability progress.

Additionally, you will have:
- A degree or equivalent level of education in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or Sustainability-related disciplines.
- Possess 2 years' experience of working broadly across all aspects of a Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability portfolio with exposure to areas such as climate risk and carbon emissions, waste management, social impact and workplace giving, human rights and modern slavery, responsible sourcing, reconciliation within a corporate or consulting environment.
- Good understanding of key ESG reporting + disclosure frameworks e.g Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, Science-based Target Initiative, UN Global Compact.
- Excellent data management skills, able to engage stakeholders to support Sustainability data requirements and maintain sustainability data to ensure confidence in data quality and meeting reporting requirements.
**Desired **skills and experience for this role:
- Strong understanding of requirements, challenges, opportunities and risks in relation to sustainability in a corporate environment.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, able to break down complex topics into simple solutions and ideas to engage our team, customers and other stakeholders and drive change in our business.
- Experience of managing small projects and building stakeholder relationships to achieve project goals.
