**About the Opportunity**
Join our dynamic Legal and Business Resilience team in a role that offers variety, an opportunity to improve your skillset and benefit from mentoring from a close-knit team. We are seeking a proactive and engaging Paralegal to report to the Senior Legal Counsel and support the Business Resilience team.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct legal research on bills, legislation, and regulatory issues
- Support Senior Legal Counsel with legal training across business units
- Maintain and update legal and teamwork registers
- Assist with insurance program renewal and stakeholder coordination
- Process records requests per procedures and maintain register
- Monitor legislation updates via Federal Legislation Register and other services
- Track relevant legal developments through news and other channels
- Provide guidance on corporate governance matters
- Help maintain statutory and contract compliance registers, and implement assurance procedures
- Assist with some contract preparation (under Senior Legal Counsel supervision) and general document accuracy and quality control.
**About You**
Currently enrolled in the final 2 years of an Australian law degree, or experienced paralegal seeking part-time opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised and able to track multiple work-streams
- Driven, and able to work autonomously while prioritising competing tasks
- Advanced MS Word skills, including template development, style management, and document formatting consistency
- Excel and PowerPoint capabilities advantageous
- Solid understanding of Australian legislative frameworks and development processes
- Adaptable, positive and happy to help nature
- Collaborates with whole team to identify and suggest improvements.
