**The opportunity**
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
**Role responsibilities**
As a Procurement Officer in ASIO, you will:
- Provide advice on procurement and contract management related matters across the Organisation.
- Conduct and support procurements, using best practices and judgment to make decisions on procurement and contract related activities that are fundamental to the day-to-day operations of the agency.
- Assist with the preparation and review of written material including reports, contracts and procurement documentation.
- Assist with delivery of procurement and contract management training to ASIO staff to build capability and capacity in the line areas, including preparation of policies, guides, templates and procedures.
- Assist with the management and administration of procurement and contract management tools, processes, forms, templates and policies.
- Promote and implement ASIO Values and business partnering culture.
- Undertake other duties as directed.
**What you will bring**
- Experience in procurement and/or contract management.
- Strong client service and communication skills.
- A high degree of self-motivation with strong attention to detail and a desire to excel.
- A logical mind with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An ability to work in a team or autonomously.
- The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
- An aptitude for procurement or contract management related tasks and the ability to understand and implement procurement regulations, policies and procedures.
- The ability to adapt to change and learn quickly in a new environment.
- Working knowledge of the PGPA Act 2013 and Commonwealth Procurement Rules or the ability to gain this knowledge quickly.
- A certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or equivalent on commencement or shortly thereafter.

**Eligibility**
To be eligible for the above roles, you must be:
- An Australian citizen.
