**About the Client**

This client is a leading Council who is seeking at PR Officer to develop the overall communication needs for the council requires a high volume, fast turnaround of content and other communication activities.

**Day to day activities**

The job is all about communicating important information from the Council to the public. The person in this job has to quickly make and share information in different ways, like in local newspapers, on social media, and in newsletters and brochures.
- Sharing information with the public through many different communication channels
- Keeping track of who the Council should talk to in the media
- Helping the public understand the Council's programs and events
- Making sure electronic marketing messages go out
- Keeping the Council's social media updated
- Writing speeches for the Mayor
- Writing brochures and advertising messages
- Sending out news to the media
- Helping with the Council's promotion and marketing needs.
- A college degree in communications or a related field
- Experience in public relations and communications, and making quick and effective news releases
- Good research skills and the ability to understand complicated information and explain it clearly
- Experience managing projects and campaigns
- Good communication skills, both speaking and writing, and the ability to work with all kinds of people
- Experience presenting information to the public in different ways, and being willing to try new things
- Good computer skills, especially in word processing and Photoshop.
