We are seeking a Diploma qualified, Early Childhood Educator to ensure the provision of a high-quality, innovative educational program that meets the individual needs of children aged from birth to 6 years at St Hellier Street Children’s Centre.

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will provide a high-quality, innovative educational program that meets the individual needs of children aged from birth to six years. This role will also ensure the care and education program aligns with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy. You’ll ensure a child-safe environment and contribute to a culture of child safety by fulfilling the responsibilities and requirements of Council’s Child Safe Policy and procedures.

**What you'll bring - skills, experience and certificates**:

- Early Childhood Qualification as recognised under Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 - Diploma.
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Current, recognised Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates, with CPR updates completed in the last 12 months.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mandatory Reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development theories.
- Ability to maintain records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
- Awareness of the diverse cultural needs of families.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment and a positive approach to shared decision-making.
- Understanding and commitment to Banyule City Council’s Values.

**Mandatory Pre-employment screenings**:

- Functional Capacity Assessment
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) - previously known as a police check.
- Working with Children’s Check
- CPR/Level 2 First Aid
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates
