We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands/Domestic Assistants to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Illawong Aged Care Home located in Hamilton Hill. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Illawong is a small and intimate 39 bed facility with a village garden, where residents have their own kitchenette for greater independence and live within a relaxed and social community.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience or an interest in cleaning/food preparation, and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.

Successful applicants will form part of our casual pool who provide relief across both morning and afternoon shifts, as well as on weekends and public holidays, as per below shifts:

- **Monday - Sunday AM/PM** - **Kitchen Hand**: 8:30am - 1:30pm **and** 3:30pm - 7:30pm
- **Monday - Saturday AM** - **Domestic Assistant**: 7am - 3pm

**About You**
- Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Domestic Assistant or Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations

**The Role**

**Kitchen Hand**
- Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
- Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
- Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
- Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery

**Domestic Assistant**
- Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
- Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility
- Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met
- Ensuring residents' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending
