- Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

**About the Role**
- Are you passionate about patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical governance? Barwon Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Safety, Quality and Improvement Coordinator to support our Surgical & Critical Care Directorate.
- In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with clinical leaders, operational managers, and quality experts to embed Barwon Health’s Clinical Governance Framework, monitor safety and quality performance, support accreditation readiness, and lead initiatives that enhance care outcomes.

- You’ll be working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and reporting to the Deputy Director of Patient Safety, while partnering with clinical leaders and managers within the Surgical & Critical Care Directorate to embed robust governance, support incident response, engage consumers, and drive improvement projects that make care safer and more person-centred.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Lead development and implementation of Safety, Quality & Improvement plans
- Coordinate clinical governance activities and facilitate performance reporting
- Support incident and clinical risk management, including leading reviews and RiskMan analysis
- Collaborate with teams on Partnering with Consumers and complaint resolution initiatives
- Help prepare for accreditation and meet NSQHS Standards
- Facilitate quality improvement projects that respond to data, feedback, and emerging risks

**What You’ll Bring**

**Essential**:

- Healthcare qualification with a minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills; ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to support or lead safety, quality or improvement activities
- Strong written communication skills, including experience writing reports and agendas
- Familiarity with incident management systems (e.g., RiskMan)

**Desirable**:

- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical or quality discipline
- Experience with clinical governance, incident reviews or consumer engagement
- Understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
