Workforce Policy Officer

The role As the Workforce Policy Officer, you will contribute to statewide strategic workforce planning and policy development activities across the health workforce and in relation to endorsed health priority areas, population groups and reform agendas for the Workforce Strategy Branch.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Assist in the research, development, implementation, planning and evaluation of key workforce planning initiatives.
- Contribute to the provision of advice to senior departmental management and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of documents including submissions, briefings and other correspondence.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders in relation to key workforce planning initiatives.
- Contribute to agreed outcomes as specified in the organisational, business and operational plans and manage the performance of the team in accordance with departmental quality improvement and risk management frameworks.
- Manage human, financial and physical resources of the team and account for their cost
- effective use.
**The successful personYou will have**:
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret workforce trends.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and contribute to reports of a substantial nature, on complex and sensitive health workforce issues.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise and engage with a range of government, industry and community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of health workforce issues.
