The role
The Principal Policy Officer will provide advice on issues related to the sustainable development and growth of the First Nations health workforce to enable the delivery of culturally safe health care to First Nations' communities. In this role you will undertake projects to monitor the First Nations health workforce and measure the impact of workforce reforms, and contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable workforce reform and strategies.
The successful person
**You will have demonstrated**:
- High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills relevant to the First Nations health workforce, with the demonstrated ability to provide culturally, aware high-level, accurate, and timely advice on complex issues.
- High level verbal communication skills and achievements in cultivating productive working relationships, partnerships and teamwork and negotiate outcomes and effectively represent the interests of the Department in dealings with stakeholders.
- High level written communication skills, including ability to compile complex policy-related reports, discussion papers and submissions.
- Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and support the team to work through obstacles in the delivery of its policy and project work.
