**THE ROLE**:
The AFP is seeking to create an Assistant Commissioner merit pool to fill vacancies now and into the future.

As an Assistant Commissioner you will be responsible for driving capability at the strategic level and developing collaborative external relationships to enhance the AFP's outcomes and reputation. You will be flexible and agile to achieve organisational objectives in an environment of ongoing change.

Other key responsibilities:

- Proactively influence outcomes in alignment with AFP strategic direction and whole of government strategy;
- Actively contribute to the broader AFP senior leadership group and implement strategies to ensure results and achieved;
- Drive operational results aligned to organisational priorities, balancing resources to foster flexibility while supporting the development and wellbeing of our people;
- Champion and lead innovation and continuous improvement;
- Proactively develop productive working relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders to understand and influence strategic law enforcement and national security drivers and frameworks;
- Drive and embed enterprise leadership succession, performance, and development strategies to proactively develop our people at all levels;
- Model the AFP Leadership behaviours and support and drive a healthy and safe workplace culture through everyday behaviours that epitomise high calibre character, courage and commitment to excellence; and
