**As a Dental Assistant, you’ll make a positive impact by**:

- You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to a Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist
- You will assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records, as well as other duties as required
- You will assist in the promotion of oral health to patients
- You will ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, including in accordance with Defence Policies & Procedures.
- You will contribute to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and maintain optimal hygiene of the surgery

**About ADF Health Services**
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
**About HMAS Kuttabul**:
Kuttabul Health Centre is located on HMAS Kuttabul in Potts Point and the area itself has been host to a naval base since 1856. It is home to Fleet Support Unit South-East (FSU-SE) which conducts maintenance on ships and submarines. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, outpatients, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy services to the ADF population. This mid-size health centre has up to 4,500 members and provides services for overseas visiting personnel. Standard operating hours are 0730-1530 Monday-Friday.

Enjoy interacting with patients and assisting the dental team with a range of support activities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years’ (full time equivalent) chair-side experience within the last 5 years.
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

**Please note**:

- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
